Learn about LAB Diamonds - Basics
Meet Your New Best Friend ...
Lab grown diamonds are carbon diamonds that have been grown in a laboratory, much like flowers grown in a greenhouse. They are as real as diamonds pulled from the earth, have the same chemical composition, and they sparkle just as brilliantly. What’s more? Lab diamonds aren’t harmful for the planet!
BASIC INFORMATION ON LAB DIAMONDS
ARE THEY REAL ...YES!
Chemically, physically, and optically, lab-grown diamonds are identical to natural ones. They’re real diamonds with the same crystal structure and beautiful sparkle as natural diamonds. Lab-grown diamonds also have the same 10 hardness. They’re just as durable as natural diamonds, but they’re a bit easier on your pocketbook. Lab diamonds can cost 30% - 40% less than earth diamonds and are structurally identical.
Lab-made diamonds can go by a few different names. Lab-made, lab-grown, lab-created, synthetic, cultured, and created can all describe diamonds made in a laboratory.
Lab-grown (or synthetic) diamonds are created in a lab, as opposed to natural diamonds, which are mined. Lab-grown diamonds are real diamonds, unlike diamond like cubic zirconia or moissanite. They have the same chemical composition and structure as natural diamonds and are beautiful gem-quality stones. Just like natural diamonds, lab-grown diamonds receive the same grading reports from major gem labs and include, cut, color, clarity, carat weight. Our larger lab diamonds are all GIA , IGI, GCAL certified.
